1 Gang No Neutral Scene Dimmer

Create full smart dimming control even when there is no Neutral at your existing light switch.

This kit combines our 4 Gang Pure Glass WiFi Smart Switch with our 1 Gang Inline WiFi Smart Dimmer to provide a clever retrofit solution where installing a conventional smart dimmer at the wall isn't practical.

How does it work?

Instead of installing the dimmer behind the wall switch, the Inline WiFi Dimmer is installed at the ceiling or junction point, where Permanent Live, Neutral and the lighting connection are available.

The 4 Gang Smart Switch is then used as a wireless SmartLife controller for the dimmer.

Where the existing switch wiring consists of Permanent Live and Switched Live, the Switched Live is no longer required to switch the light because this function has moved to the Inline Dimmer. Subject to the existing wiring being suitable, this conductor can therefore be repurposed as Neutral to power the Smart Switch.

No new control cable is required between the switch and dimmer – the two devices are linked using SmartLife automations.

Four Buttons – Four Lighting Controls

Program each button to give instant access to your preferred lighting settings. For example:

Button 1 → ON/OFF
Button 2 → 30% brightness
Button 3 → 60% brightness
Button 4 → 100% brightness

The settings are completely configurable, so you can choose the brightness levels that suit your room.

Important – Please Check Your Wiring

This solution requires Permanent Live at the existing switch position and Permanent Live and Neutral at the location where the Inline Dimmer will be installed.

The existing Switched Live conductor must be suitable for repurposing as Neutral and must be correctly identified at both ends.

The Inline Dimmer must also be compatible with the lamps or LED drivers being controlled.
